TAS provides information, advice and, in some cases, legal representation to all tenants in the Northern Territory, including those renting privately, in public apartments, caravan parks, guest houses and shared apartments with: Provides legal assistance, advocacy and support, A free telephone information service for the Northern Territory. Call us for help with legal and other issues. DCLS is a free and confidential service. We help disadvantaged members of the community protect their legal rights. We work towards a community where everyone has access to legal advice and support. We try to challenge unfair laws and procedures and ensure that people are aware of their legal rights. Provides information, advice, advocacy and support to tenants in all legal matters related to tenancy and related legal issues. DCLS recognises the Larrakia as the traditional owners of the Darwin area. We honour the elders of Larrakia past, present and future. We also recognise and respect the traditional owners of the land throughout the Northern Territory and Australia. We recognize their enduring connection to the land, water and culture. We are grateful to share this country and express our grief at the cost of sharing it to the indigenous peoples of Australia.

The Northern Territory Legal Aid Commission (NTLAC) is an independent statutory body established under the Legal Aid Act 1990. Our goal is to ensure that the people of the Northern Territory understand their legal rights and that disadvantaged people have access to quality legal services, and to maintain a fair Northern Territory and a national justice system. The General Legal Service can provide free legal information and advice on most non-criminal matters, including: Under the supervision of the Community Legal Education Team Leader, the Northern Territory Legal Aid Commission (NTLAC) Community Legal Education Team (CLE) provides information and training on the law, legal rights and procedures for community members and service providers in the Northern Territory. The Community Legal Educator will work as part of the continuing education team that implements NTLAC`s continuing education strategy with different groups and programs that change over time. TEWLS provides free legal advice to high-level women, including legal advice, representation and advocacy. Darwin Community Legal Service (DCLS) is a free and confidential service that helps community members protect their legal rights. Through equitable access to legal advice and support, we are committed to addressing issues of injustice and disadvantage. Our service is independent and we want to be fearless. TEWLS is able to provide legal assistance in civil, family and migration matters.
